Mother's Day
Dear Baby,
Today is my first Mother's Day with you! It's so amazing to think that next year we can celebrate with you in my arms.
This weekend we were at an ACTS retreat, and although it was a lot of hard work, you were so helpful! I had lots of energy, no sickness, and everyone was very excited to hear about your presence at the retreat.
When it was finally Sunday, I was relieved to finally spend time with all of the mommies in our life. We sat Grandma Verm and Gigi to give them each presents. Aunt Rachel was so sweet to give me a Mother's Day gift too! She got me a beautiful necklace from James Avery that looks like a heart by symbolizes a mother and child. What a special gift!
Daddy gave me the sweetest gift of all - a necklace with three charms (now that there is three of us) and the most beautiful card. We are truly blessed to have him in our family.
Although you won't be here for Father's Day in June, don't worry. I'll pick out something amazing for you to give Daddy.

The Sweetest Sound
Dear Baby,
Today is the day!! Daddy and I have been anxiously waiting our doctor's appointment to get to hear your heartbeat. It seems like it was such a long time ago that we got to hear the sound of your heart and see you (even though you were VERY tiny). We had been nervous all week waiting to hear you!
You were pretty shy at first, the technician wasn't able to find your heartbeat. Daddy and I were getting a little nervous and were praying that you would decide to let us listen. Finally, the nurse found your heart! It is beating much faster than mine and was definitely distinctive! We were so relieved!
We can't wait for our next appointment in June so that we get to learn more about you!
