The News Is Out!

Dear Baby,

Today is the day!  We are so excited to be able to share the news with your grandparents, aunts and uncles today!

We went to a family dinner at your Verm grandparents house and after dinner we decided to share the news.  After telling Grandma Verm that we had an early Mother's Day present for her, we presented her with a frame that said "Baby Ashorn's First Christmas" complete with a snapshot of your first ultrasound picture.  Needless to say, Grandma and Grandpa were surprised, especially Grandma.

Your aunts were especially surprised when they heard the news and we gave them all frames that said "Great Sisters Get Promoted to Aunt."  After the shock wore off they were able to give some name suggestions (Tina... Rachel... and Kelly, which Aunt Kelly says works for boys and girls).

Next we headed to Pops and Gigi's house to share the news!  Gigi opened the same frame Grandma Verm recieved and just screamed with excitement! Poor Pops didn't even know what was going on, but when we told him we were having a baby he had tears of happiness.

Aunt Bethany got the news the next morning and was equally as excited!  Your new cousins Kaden, Brenna and Grays had lots of questions about you, but we told them that we didn't know if you were a boy or a girl and that we could all meet you in December.

Your Uncle Thomas and Uncle Matt were excited too!   Everyone can't wait to meet you!

Great-Grandma Verm (Maminka) was especially surprised.  After telling us that she was putting away her baby toys, we let her know that there would be a new baby in December!  She is overjoyed to be a great-grandma for the first time!

Granny Annie is also excited to add you to her list of great-grandbabies!  She can't wait to meet you, too!

We are so blessed to be able to share this news with our family!  You are so loved by so many!

Love,
Mommy

Your First Photo!

Dear Baby,

Today we met with Dr. Ronen who will help bring you into the world!  We were able to have an ultrasound to see you and, even though you're only the size of a chocolate chip, we were able to see and hear your heartbeat!  It was so amazing to see you, even though we knew you existed.  We are in complete awe of God's miracle of life and December seems like such a long time to wait to meet you!

Daddy immediately wanted to go to Sealy to tell your grandparents.  We agreed that we would surprise them with the big news the next day and we can't wait to let our family in on our secret!

We'll see Dr. Ronen again in a month to hear your beautiful heartbeat again.

Love,
Mommy

And Baby Makes Three!

Dear Baby,

Today is April 1, 2013 and our life has changed forever!

After celebrating Easter this past weekend I had a feeling, a very small, faint feeling, that something special was going on.  Your Dad and I had prayed for you before we even knew you.  We prayed for you to be healthy, for you to be strong, and for you to have a love for Christ like we do.  On that Easter weekend I had a feeling that our prayers were going to be real and on Monday morning I woke up early and found out I was pregnant!

I was surprised, excited, and admittedly a little scared.  I kept the secret to myself for an entire day to think of how I would tell your father and I started to realize that things were going to be different!

I had bought your Dad a book of baby names to give him as a surprise, however, things went much smoother in my head than in real life!  I went to go tell him about you after work, but I couldn't find the words! I just couldn't stop smiling.  After he asked why I was smiling so much I just started laughing (mainly because it was April Fools day and did seem a little bit silly to announce a pregnancy on that day).  I couldn't stop giggling.  He finally asked if I was pregnant and all I could do was nod through tears of happiness! After a long hug I finally gave him the baby book of names and told him he could get started!

We are overjoyed and can't wait to meet you in December (or November if you can't wait to meet us too)!

Love,
Mommy
Here we are at Easter Vigil - we didn't know three people were in the picture!
